Christmas Eve (24 Dec 2019)

In the afternoon we strolled around Somerset, having lunch at Dapur penyet and became tourists.

In the evening, we had dinner at Benedito and we enjoyed togetherness.

Xmas Feast (20 Dec 2019)

These whole feast started from last Friday. Prior meeting with my ladies friends, I accompanied my family for dinner at Poulet.

Back to Hometown (Jakarta-Semarang) 6 - 14 December 2019

This year we had two holiday trips in neighbouring countries.
The first part was going back to mama and papa's hometown in Jakarta and Semarang.
We flew with Singapore Airlines on Friday night and reached Jakarta by midnight.

The kids were staying with Opa Jerry and Oma Ani while mama and papa were staycation in hotel.
They were pampered and had fun to the max.

On Tuesday, we went to Semarang by road and it took around 6 hours in total.
It's fun and the kids enjoyed the journey. They ate and slept during the ride.
The next day we went to the city as mama needed to run an errand and enjoyed the local food.

On Thursday, we went to South, to Cimory and Gua Kerep Ambawara.
We had fun there eventhough the weather was very humid.

We returned back to Jakarta on Friday by road and it took longer because there's congestion in the highway at Jakarta border.

Overall, we enjoyed this short trip and felt rejuvenated.

Looking forward our second part to Malaysia.

Home Team Festival (24 Nov 2019)

On Sunday, we had fun attending Home Team Festival.
They showcased many things from SCDF, internal defense as well as kids activities and the best part is it's free :)

Richie tried wall climbing for the first time and he made it almost to the top. Then he tried Kids Ninja Warrior too. Last but not least, he hold the real gun to shoot the target.

We also had free photo session in the booth provided.
Overall we spent around 2 hours there and it's really great edutainment to the kids

Altar Server Camp (20 - 22 Nov 2019)

This is his first time away from home.
He went for Altar Server Camp at church for 3 days and 2 nights.
He's so excited and nervous at the same time. Two days prior the camp, he has packed his own bag and asked us to buy sleeping bag for him.

The day before we went to Decathlon to buy sleeping bag and he chose himself.
I asked him
Would you miss mama and papa ? he said yes
Would you miss Tromson ? he said yes
Would you miss Ted ? he said no, because Ted is naughty
hahaha....

I asked him, are you excited ?
Yes, half excited because it's my first time and half nervous because I'm afraid I couldn't sleep well.

Anyway, in the morning, mama sent him to church and he looked happy.
Hopefully in this 3 days 2 nights, he will discover some enlightenments and perhaps found his personal vocation too.
Whatever he wants to choose, as long as it's for God's glory, mama and papa will support him.

All Saint's Day 2019

Richie and papa together served the mass on All Saint's Day. It's one of papa's wishes to serve God together with the children and now it came true.

Life Lesson Learned from Richie

Yesterday I picked my eldest son from school as usual I asked him about school and any test result from the recent papers.

He was happily saying 😃mama I got improvement in my chinese.

Chinese is his weakest subject and I only expect pass grade from him. So when he told me he got improvements, I thought it must be 7/10 or something 😃

Then he continued but I still failed in Chinese in very calm expression 🙂then he told me he got 19/45. Which I know it's failed😅😔

Quickly he calmed me down and said I did better this time than last semester with 10 points increase which is for him it's considered a lot.🤪

I didn't know whether I wanted to cry 😭 or to be happy 😃 at that time.

This morning when I did daily examine of what happened yesterday, once again I was reminded of his story and I pondered and reflected back

He actually gave me some important lessons

1. He values himself not based on what others define or expect him

2. He didn't see fail and pass as failure or success but he could see that he has grown and improved and did better than before

3. He never compared himself to others, he only compared it with old him.

4. Yesterday was yesterday, today is today and tomorrow will be another day, he always takes it easy and never take it to hard. 

In the end, I only can say that I am proud of him not because of his results performance but he has grown wiser especially in this age when everyone loves to compare and compete with each other.

Beyblade from Lego

He asked me to buy beyblades for him as his birthday presents.
I agreed to buy the beyblades and battle fields however I told him that he only could play after exam.
However, he can't wait any longer.

His determination bore creativity by creating beyblade from lego.
I can't help smiling and proud of him.
He's able to solve the problem using his brain
