Last day of the year 2012

We celebrated the last day of the year at Sentosa
We rode Cable car in the afternoon, since it's raining almost the whole day, we just went there for a while and take a picture with parrots hehehe...
Richie loves animals and he's not afraid carrying the parrot

Learn to write (35 months)

Richie has interest in writing, therefore mommy bought him few activity books of prewriting
He seems enjoy it and looking forward this activity every day.
Mommy limits him to do it in half an hour only each day to make him not to loose interest and boring.
Mommy bought him stamps too (good, very good and excellent ) as rewards once he finishes the task
He's so happy and mommy's happy too seeing him eager to learn on his own pace and interest

Richie 1st Race at Baby Junior Race (26 Aug 2012)

35 months Richie joined the race for first time, mommy enrolled him just for having fun especially he likes to run and jump.
The participants are so overwhelmed, Richie just woke up from afternoon nap before the race and daddy shew him how to play.
It's a teamwork race, where daddy and Richie hold balls together in each hands and run side by side to the finishing line.

Surprisingly, a lot of parents took the race very seriously, they carried, bragged their kids hands just to finish the race and won a hamper.
Can't believe it, the race that supposed to be fun games becomes serious and so competitive...
No wonder, a lot of kids also stress out in education segment hehe...
Well from this little thing, we knew how kiasu singaporean born parents

Big boy = Independent boy ? (34 mos)

Mommy is surprised by Richie's behavior today, he wants to do everything by himself from brushing the teeth, showering, even having his lunch
He says to me "mama tunggu, Richie bisa " ( mommy pls wait, Richie can do it )
Mommy let him do it, but mommy will still help him brush the teeth and shower 'cos he's not able to clean it by himself.
And for feeding, he just does it few spoons then busy watching "Pingu" his favorite show and mommy will feed him and last 30mins hehe

At least, he shows some interests to do it all by himself, meaning he's ready to go to school and mommy's ready to go back to work force.

Well done boy !

Official Diaper free ?? (27 July 2012) 34 mos

This moment is waited by mommy when he's willingly doing "big business" in the toilet instead of in the diaper.
Yes, previously Richie is diaper free for "small business" like pee in the day and night and mommy also doesn't push him to poop in the toilet 'cos he will try to hold it as much as he can sigh....

This morning is unusual.
At first, he asks mommy to put diaper on 'cos he wants to poop
Then he wants to hold mommy's hand, so I told him can you please hold sofa instead, I'm still busy with cooking and kitchen...

Suddenly, he comes again and says that he wants to poop in the toilet
I ask him do you want to sit in the toilet bowl ? and he says yes...
So I use the toilet ring and put him sit on top of it. I never expect anything 'cos he may just want to distract me or being playful, as usual he ask for youtube about baby pooping in the toilet.

But since I'm in the middle of washing the dishes, I just ask him to wait until I'm finished.
Then I go back again to the toilet and he says I'm done ! The poop is there with big smile
When mommy look inside the toilet bowl, gotcha it's there

Mommy's so happy and says Good Job and he says to himself PINTAR (meaning smart) hahaha
So I told him next time if you want to poop, please use toilet ya, no more diaper.
Diaper is for baby, you are big boy already hehe and he's just smiling

Well done Boy !
Hopefully this will continue and mommy doesn't need to buy any diapers anymore

Sentosa Day Out

We went to Sentosa with our CG Elza, the main purpose is for maternity photoshoot of some moms in our CG but we also took advantage to snap some pictures during sunset with our camera.
It turned out great

Co-sleeping in his bedroom

Another improvement for Richie to sleep alone in his bedroom.
He's now willingly sleeping in his own bed but mommy must accompany him.
This is also blessing in disguise.
Richie was dry coughing for almost 2 weeks before our trip to Surabaya and we thought it's because of some kinds of virus or bacteria.The PD gave him antibiotic but the cough didn't stop immediately, it stopped after the third day he ate the antibiotics
So we thought that the antibiotics were not strong enough for him.

When we were in Surabaya, he was okay, no cough, running nose or any sickness
But when we came back to Singapore, the next night, he's starting to cough and running nose
Mommy gave him actified syrup and it didn't get any better especially at night
Therefore mommy asked him to move to his own room with fan only. And he could sleep peacefully without coughing, it went the same the next night.

We conclude that Richie was kinda allergic to some dusts that our aircon or our room may have.
From that moment, now when he's going to sleep at night, he will ask mommy to sleep in his own room and said to mommy " later Richie will be coughing again if sleep in papa's room" hehehe...such a good boy.

Now it's half way to train him to sleep alone, hopefully after we move to new house, he's willingly to sleep in his own room alone

Going to Pasar Malam

Yesterday, mommy brought him to Pasar Malam. He's so excited to play balls games and also car ride.
And here he is in car ride, he chooses his own car, passes the ticket to uncle, riding his car and so excited

Climbing up the rope

He has so much energy to spend, therefore mommy teaches him how to climb the ropes at playground.
And here he is, his hands are so strong

Richie's singing " Pai Pai Shou " his favorite song in chinese class, not sure about the original and correct title haha

Pushing the limits

This two weeks Richie has been pushing the limits, our patience to be exact.
Whenever mommy told him not to do, he will do, if mommy asks him to do something, he won't do it.
It really drives mommy crazy. Mommy's not sure why he's behaving like that suddenly from being good boy.
Hopefully it's just phasing stage...

But so far he likes to go to class, the weekly chinese class, he's looking forward to meeting his laoshi.
The good feedback from laoshi, he's actively participating now, even when he's back home, he could sing the song, not sure its title though hehe...

recognizing chinese characters (32 mos)

Today is holiday therefore Richie home based learning with mommy by revising all the lessons he has attended.
Here it is, he could recognize  all the characters and sing 2 nursery songs Xiao Xing Xing and Zhu Ni Sheng Ri Kuai Le

Third lesson in Berries (31st month)

After a holiday last Tuesday, yesterday was a third chinese lesson in Berries.
It turned out very good, the laoshi praised him for the great improvement.
He just cried in the beginning when mommy left but after that he's okay.
He could sit below his name and read correctly and also he helped laoshi giving stickers and glue to other kids hehe...

Phew...mommy's effort to create his room like berries classroom is not wasted after all hahaha...
Mommy created a card with his name so he knows where he should sit

Every day mommy told him not to scared, stay with laoshi while mommy's going for fitness and mommy will pick him up again with bread.
Don't cry and don't try to go out

And finally, it's successful...and he's so looking forward to the class

Mommy believes that he can overcome separation anxiety soon and he did it !

Night prayer before good night sleep (31 st month)

Mommy creates a habit for Richie to pray before night sleep and mommy asks Richie to recite the prayer after me, he now remembers the short prayer and will pray before good night sleep

First time going to salloon (31 month)

Today, mommy brought Richie to saloon downstairs since mommy also wanted to cut the fringe
Richie sat on my lap and he could sit still while the hairdresser auntie cut his hair, it's pretty fast compare with mommy's haha...
And lastly she used the tools to cut the below and side ways.
It took about 10 minutes the whole cutting process and Richie could sit still until the end

In the end, he said Richie bisa hahaha...he applauded himself

Reciting words

Since he likes to copy whatever mommy and daddy say, mommy make use of his new habit with reciting activity.
Whenever mommy reads a book for him, mommy asks him to recite mommy's words.
It's quite fun for mommy to hear his cute voice haha...

Then at night, mommy makes a habit for him to pray and greet us with I love you, kiss kiss and say good night.
And mommy will lead the simple prayer and he recites mommy's words. Mommy keeps the prayer sentences simple and always the same, so he can memorize it easily.

Cut cut cut .....(2.5 years old)

Richie is learning to use scissors for cutting the papers...
Mommy bought him kiddy scissors that just fit nicely with his fingers.
He's so excited learning new things every day especially this cutting skills. When mommy praised him, he's getting more excited haha and cut the paper until small

Meanwhile, mommy is making Hi-5 sign using his little hand

Night Time Toilet Training (2.5 years)

For one week, mommy has trained him toilet training at night and so far successful rate was 100%
Richie can wake up by himself in the middle of the night and wake mommy up too to help him going to pee in the toilet. Mommy still put diapers on him, but it turns out dry every morning
there's nothing mommy can say than Very Well Done boy !

It all began when he was peeing in his diapers so much until it wet the bed few nights before.
And mommy will ask him to move to other room, therefore he finds it so troublesome hahaha...
To prevent spill over again, mommy didn't give him milk before sleep few nights after that and asked him to pee before going to sleep and pee in the toilet instead.
It worked well.

Then, mommy started to try giving him milk before sleep and asked him to pee before sleep and also in the toilet if he wanted to pee in the middle of the night and surprisingly he did it

Mommy will still put on diapers at night for about one month until his diapers really dry for one month then mommy will start taking off diapers at night.

Next one will be toilet training outside house when we go out

Attending Young Married couple cell group

Since Richie is now 2.5 years old and well behaved, mommy and daddy decided to attend young married couple cell group with KTM.
At first, Richie was shy because he never meet other couples but after second visit, he's quite comfortable with the people there especially the other kids. He's the oldest among other kids.
