Official Diaper free ?? (27 July 2012) 34 mos

This moment is waited by mommy when he's willingly doing "big business" in the toilet instead of in the diaper.
Yes, previously Richie is diaper free for "small business" like pee in the day and night and mommy also doesn't push him to poop in the toilet 'cos he will try to hold it as much as he can sigh....

This morning is unusual.
At first, he asks mommy to put diaper on 'cos he wants to poop
Then he wants to hold mommy's hand, so I told him can you please hold sofa instead, I'm still busy with cooking and kitchen...

Suddenly, he comes again and says that he wants to poop in the toilet
I ask him do you want to sit in the toilet bowl ? and he says yes...
So I use the toilet ring and put him sit on top of it. I never expect anything 'cos he may just want to distract me or being playful, as usual he ask for youtube about baby pooping in the toilet.

But since I'm in the middle of washing the dishes, I just ask him to wait until I'm finished.
Then I go back again to the toilet and he says I'm done ! The poop is there with big smile
When mommy look inside the toilet bowl, gotcha it's there

Mommy's so happy and says Good Job and he says to himself PINTAR (meaning smart) hahaha
So I told him next time if you want to poop, please use toilet ya, no more diaper.
Diaper is for baby, you are big boy already hehe and he's just smiling

Well done Boy !
Hopefully this will continue and mommy doesn't need to buy any diapers anymore

Night Time Toilet Training (2.5 years)

For one week, mommy has trained him toilet training at night and so far successful rate was 100%
Richie can wake up by himself in the middle of the night and wake mommy up too to help him going to pee in the toilet. Mommy still put diapers on him, but it turns out dry every morning
there's nothing mommy can say than Very Well Done boy !

It all began when he was peeing in his diapers so much until it wet the bed few nights before.
And mommy will ask him to move to other room, therefore he finds it so troublesome hahaha...
To prevent spill over again, mommy didn't give him milk before sleep few nights after that and asked him to pee before going to sleep and pee in the toilet instead.
It worked well.

Then, mommy started to try giving him milk before sleep and asked him to pee before sleep and also in the toilet if he wanted to pee in the middle of the night and surprisingly he did it

Mommy will still put on diapers at night for about one month until his diapers really dry for one month then mommy will start taking off diapers at night.

Next one will be toilet training outside house when we go out

Toilet Training Chart ( 2 years 4 months)

To encourage Richie for toilet training, mommy decided to create reward system which is toilet training chart stickers. It was starting recently about 1 week ago

the sticker book and the stickers as reward system

The rules of the games :
1. Once he tell mommy that he's gonna pee, and successfully pee in the toilet, mommy will give him 1 sticker which he chooses by himself and puts into the sticker book.
2. If he manages to pull down the pants by himself before pee and successfully pee in the toilet, mommy will give him 2 stickers.
3. And if he manages to pass motion in the toilet bowl not in the pampers, mommy will give him 3 stickers.

After he completes all the stickers, mommy will let him choose the toys he wants to buy

So far, everything is going according to the plan even though he only manages do the first one.
Well, at least no accident yet hehe...and he's so happy after successfully pee in the toilet 'cos he can choose and paste the sticker.

Well done Boy, keep it up !

toilet training in progress (2 years 3 mos)

AFter re-train Richie again from the beginning since we were back from our holiday, finally today mommy saw some results hehe...so happy...
This morning, Richie let mommy know before he peed. He knocked bathroom's door while mommy took a shower and said e ek e ek... I thought oh no...another accident again.
So mommy quickly opened the door and Richie was in front of the door said e ek e ek..

When mommy put down the training pants, he suddenly went inside and peed there and asked to get the shower spray to clean the pee
Wahh..mommy's so happy and told him Good Job..and he smiled widely too

Then after 1 hour, he also told mommy again while in the kitchen e ek e ek and mommy quickly brought him to the toilet and peed there again.

Today is successful day of toilet training with accident-free

Mommy wants to encourage him more by using rewards stickers...Gonna buy it later so he will have a sense of achievement too

toilet training start over again

After we went for almost 1 month in December, mommy need to start toilet training all over again.
Mommy put him on training pant again and must timing him every one and half hour to the toilet to pee..
Haiyahhh...but good thing is he knows when he accidentally pee he will start screaming...mama eek hehe..
anyway today is the second day and he can pee in the toilet...

Good job boy and way to go !

Great Progress in toilet training

25 months Richie has been doing great in toilet training. His sense and urge to pee and poo have developed well.
Now before going to do "business" he will tell mommy first eventhough he's saying both in the same word " eek ".
So no diapers on the day, only night time.
The only thing that he still doesn't want to do is poo in the toilet pad. aiyahhh..
But it's okay, the day will come soon when mommy doesn't need to buy any diapers.

Mommy bought him Thomas Briefs instead of training pants 'cos it's cheaper and got his favorite characters.
Well done Boy !

Saying Pee and Eek

Finally Richie's able to differentiate between pee and poo
Today, after he pees in his training pant, he comes to mommy and says pee
Even though he's not able to hold and go to toilet for pee and poo, at least he's now able to differentiate.
When the time comes and when he's ready, mommy believes that he can pee and poo in the toilet

Anyway, it's great improvement boy !
Keep it up !

Training Pants

Since mommy decided to toilet train Richie, mommy bought training pants from Mothercare (3 pants/S$29.90) it's a bit expensive but the quality is good compare with training pants from Kiddy Palace (6.90/piece)

Mommy does toilet train from him only during a day before his afternoon nap.
So far, no improvement yet. He still pee in the pants and worse he never complains about the wetness
Well, mommy just needs to have more patience then hehe...

Toilet training in progress (pee)

Today mommy trains Richie again for toilet training (pee). This morning, mommy put training pant instead of diapers and mommy told him if you want to pee, you go toilet to pee and show him the toilet.
So when he played in the kitchen while mommy was cooking, he felt that he wanted to pee.
Since he couldn't talk yet, he just stood up and pulled up his shirt and wanted to pull down the pant.

Mommy saw this and asked him to run to the toilet to pee. But when we almost there,in front of the toilet he couldn't take it anymore and pee in the pant hehe...
Well, not too bad for the first day, at least he can feel and show that he wants to pee.

Tomorrow, we will train again then...

Starting toilet training (pee)

When Richie could walk steady, he didn't want to be put in bath tub during shower.
So mommy decided to let him stand, holding the wall and shower him.
And he prefers that too, he likes to stand in the corner and facing the wall. After that, he will pee hahaha....
Now, almost every time when mommy shower him, he will pee before or after shower.

It's a good start for toilet training, at least he's willing to do it by himself.

And today, when he poop, before mommy changed to new diaper, mommy let him to pee first in the toilet
and he did it hehe...good job !
Mommy will slowly try to use training pant during the day and see if he gets used to pee in the toilet

For "big" business aka poo, he still doesn't want to do it in the potty.
And he prefers to play with the potty hehe...
Anyway, when the time comes, he will do it by himself.
