11.5 months old - Richie the Duck

Drinking from the cup with straw (11.5 months old)

Another positive progress from Richie. He's now able to drink with straw from the cup.
Actually it happens unexpectedly. Yesterday, we had lunch together at Kopitiam, IMM. As usual, he's very curious when every one drank juices from the disposable cup with straw.
At first, he just bite and played with straw, but suddenly he found the technique and sucked the juices from the straw. He's quite surprised too and couldn't control it so the juice just spilled over from the straw.

But after that, he could manage the rhythm so he control it pretty well.
Since, it's pretty new stuff for him to explore, he'd loved to drink with the straw.
Well Done my Boy !

Hopefully, now it will be much more easier to drink milk or juices

More progress in understanding the commands

Well, I would say, mommy could see Richie's improvement and progress in understanding the commands after 11 months. He's getting smarter and seemed that he is applying what mommy taught or trained before.

Mommy brought him dummy donuts and the rings toys when he was 6 months old. He supposed to put the donuts into the ring from largest to the smallest.
Last time, when mommy taught him, he seemed never listen and only did what he wanted to do which is demolishing hehe...
But now, mommy noticed and observed that he's getting his mind in place. He can put the largest donut into the ring. Mommy still helped to position the ring so he can put the donut there, mommy understands that his motor skills still inperfect. But mommy really happy he can do it by his own will.

Another toy is girrafe eating the balls (Fisher Price). This was bought when he was 8 months old. Supposedly he put the ball into girrafe mouth and the balls will be sliding down like roller coster track.
Last time, he didn't want to do it, he preferred taking the balls, then either eating it or bang together or roll the ball and catch them.
But now, he understands what should do, he will try his hard to put the ball into girrafe mouth and see the ball sliding down...when the girrafe make sound meaning the balls successfully sliding down, he will clap his hands together hahaha....so funny...he gives himself a reward hahaha...

Unfortunately, mommy hasn't got right time to video cam so he can see how he did for the first time in the future, 'cos every time mommy asks sometimes he refuses to do it. I guess it  depends on his mood though.

Well, mommy is very proud of Richie, at least what mommy bought is not a waste and makes him think creatively.
Well done Boy !

One Upper tooth emerge again - 11 months 1 week

Exactly 11 months 1 week (30 Aug 2010) another one upper tooth emerges
Now, Richie has 3 teeth in total, one below tooth coming out soon.

Appetite is still okay and as usual as before

Smart Boy, Well Done ! Crawling down the bed

Mommy's very proud of Richie. Indeed, he's a smart boy in his own way.
Following the falling down blog that mommy wrote previously, as written before that after the incident, mommy taught him how to go down from mommy's bed.
Amazingly, mommy only taught for 3 days and he's now the expert of crawling in the bed and going down by himself.

He knows that when he reaches to the edge, he sit down for a while and when he wants to go down, he turns his body around and sliding one of the leg and follow by the other....since mommy's bed is a bit high, sometimes he lost the balance when he reaches the floor, but it's ok.

First when he did it by himself, mommy thought it was all coincidence 'cos when mommy taught him, he seemed never pay attention...but every time he wanted to pick up something from the floor, he did the same thing over and over again. Then mommy convinced that he understood what mommy taught and applied it
hahaha...well done boy !
