Pre-primary activity books

 Mommy bought this activity books from Du Yi bookshops.

They are not expensive, less than S$5 each but can last for 3 months I guess hehe...

This books are for Richie to practice at home.

During K1, mommy already makes a habit for him to do a review eventhough only half an hour.

This habit will be carried out when he's in primary school, secondary, JC or university.

It doesn't take long time but regular time will help his study

 

Hopefully he doesn't need any tuition

 

 

Feeling Nostalgic again

After mommy does some re-organization for our photo albums, mommy found these adorable photo album series belong to Richmond.
It feels like nostalgic again. At first mommy wants to make photobooks like Tromson's but after some consideration, I think it's better to leave it as it is so it can show how the photo album transforms from old fashioned to modern ones.

It's very basic and it's very good for beginner

Today,  Richie surprises mommy, when mommy gives him a book that's for beginner to read, he shows interest and slowly reads it with a little help from mommy.
It's another big milestone for him.

Positive Discipline

Positive Discipline is about teaching and guiding NOT punishing.

Previously, mommy has been having hard time when Richie's throwing tantrum and those kind of terrible two problems. Even mommy has lost patience and temper and still Richie didn't understand when mommy scolded him. Mommy's really sad and frustration too how to handle two years old toddler...and to make him understand what should and shouldn't do.

Then, when mommy went to library to borrow some books for Richie, mommy tumbled upon this book Positive Discipline for first three years.
This is like angel sent from above which opened mommy's eyes and mind.

After reading it, mommy understood that discipline is not about punishing, scolding, threatening, warning etc, it's about teaching and guiding.
First I must understand his developmental stage and his behavior to discipline him appropriately with his age.

Now, our relationship is much more better, he seldom throws tantrum and even he does it, mommy will tease and tickling him to calm him down and to make the situation become positive again.

Little Reader

2 days ago, mommy decided to put some of his books down, meaning within his reach.
Guess, what he's doing ??
He's so excited, now if mommy does something and can't play with him, he will take his books and flip the books by himself.
Of course after that, he will make a mess, but still he's very interested in reading the book

When mommy finishes doing chores and accompanies him, he always asks mommy to read the same book, his favorite ones : Dibo book, words book, mickey mouse hehe

So yesterday, mommy applied library card for him, and it's free since Richie's a Singaporean and guess...
he's so excited in the library, he picked some books and gave it to mommy and mommy could see he's so happy to see so many books in the library

Mommy borrowed 6 books, mostly nursery rhymes books that he's familiar with...

How to teach your baby math and to read

While in Bali, mommy bought two books How to Teach Your Baby to Read and How to Teach Your Baby Math by Glenn Doman
It's good to know the reason why baby looks like easily boring with his toys and why he likes to play the real one for eg real hp instead of hp toys.
And also the guidance to stimulate his brains without forcing the baby...

New Books

Since mommy loves books, mommy will get excited if there's promotions or sales.
These books were bought during popular children books sale
And, I guess Richie has similar genes like mommy, he likes to hold and flip the books even though he doesn't understand the contain yet.
