St Ignatius de Loyola Movie

On Friday, we had movie screening at our church about Ignatius de Loyola and we watched it after Tromson's swimming lesson as family. Even though Richie has no interest yet in the movie but mama write it down here so when he grown up, he can understand the value.

The synopsis :
If you could hear the voice of God, would you want to keep it secret ?
This is the story of a soldier, a man of vice and violence who in his attempt to turn the light was forced to wrestle with his inner demons to the very brink of death. He struggled with depression and near-suicide, his trial before the inquisition and ultimate vindication and how he found about Spiritual Exercise that's still practiced by Jesuit order and layman until today.

What we learn from this movie :

1. Pray for indifference
Sometimes we love to pray for all good things to come to our life, asking blessings ( good financial, good health, happiness in life etc) it's not wrong but it will be wiser if we could ask the heart of indifference to help us to give thanks to God in all situation even though we are in the tribulation, poor health, or misfortunes.
Sometimes God used those undesirable situation to bring us closer to God

2. Consolation - Desolation
What brings us more to God to love and unity is called consolation, what brings us away from God that creates confusion, delusion is called desolation

3. Spiritual Exercise
It's an exercise to discern about voice of God and voice of Evil.

In conclusion, we are all called to be the Army of God. We need to have the ability to discern what is good and what is evil because a lot of things in this world are in grey areas instead of obvious black and white. Last but not least, do everything for the glory of God (Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam)

Paul The Apostle of Christ - movie

Last Saturday we watch this new movie, Paul the Apostle of Christ from itunes.
It's a good movie.

The synopsis
Paul, Apostle of Christ is the story of two men. Luke, as a friend and physician, risks his life every time he ventures into the city of Rome to visit Paul, who is held captive in Nero's darkest, bleakest prison cell. Before Paul's death sentence can be enacted, Luke resolves to write another book, one that details the beginnings of "The Way" and the birth of what will come to be known as the church. But Nero is determined to rid Rome of Christians, and does not flinch from executing them in the grisliest ways possible. Bound in chains, Paul's struggle is internal. He has survived so much--floggings, shipwreck, starvation, stoning, hunger and thirst, cold and exposure--yet as he waits for his appointment with death, he is haunted by the shadows of his past misdeeds. What we could take back from this movie 
1. Love is the only Way
2. God's way is not our way
3. There's nothing impossible for God, He can change the heart's of man
4. God can make use of any situation to save one man's soul

The Shack Movie

Few weeks ago, we as family watched this movie "The Shack" at our parish church.
The movie was incredible good and mama decided to write in this blog so that Richie may watch it in the future when he's grown up.

The synopsis :
After suffering a family tragedy, Mack Phillips spirals into a deep depression that causes him to question his innermost beliefs. Facing a crisis of faith, he receives a mysterious letter urging him to an abandoned shack in the Oregon wilderness. Despite his doubts, Mack journeys to the shack and encounters an enigmatic trio of strangers led by a woman named Papa. Through this meeting, Mack finds important truths that will transform his understanding of his tragedy and change his life forever.

The message that mama received from this movie :
1. Our purpose of life is to be loved and to love
We are created as God image which God's nature is Love, so each of us is called to love as God loves us.
If we are fail to love or feel to be loved, there's must be something wrong within us. Perhaps it's painful experience, betrayal etc so we must come back to the source of Love and trust God to heal and renew us

2. Are we God ?
Eventhough we are God's perfect creation, we are not God. However because of the original sin from Adam and Eve, we like to take God's role to be God. We love to judge the good and the bad.
Unfortunately what we thought is good sometimes it clashes with other's good and end up the world becomes so chaotic

3. Our Future is with God
Without Him, we won't have future. We can't do everything by ourselves

4. Let it Go
To come back to our original call, we need to let go our pain and learn to forgive those who hurt us because God also loves those who hurt us and by forgiving them, we also setting them free so that God can redeem them from the evil

Hopefully, when he's grown up, he can watch this movie again and find other meanings that come alive in his life

Courageous Movie - Recommended for all daddies

Daddy found this movie and bought it from iTunes. It's recommended movie for all daddies especially those who want to strive becoming a better daddy.
Daddy's role is not only provider but also a leader, a religious leader, a best friend, and boyfriend

Mommy and daddy love this movie and mommy could see that daddy has been inspired by this movie.

Daddy spends more time with Richie by accompanying Richie to play, reading bedtime stories ( well it's bible story), and going to bring Richie watch soccer live from stadium
